Rollout Update - March 2014

Following recent news that the rollout is ahead of schedule despite adverse weather, we are pleased to confirm the next areas (phase 3) in line for fibre rollout:

Alfriston, Barcombe, East Dean, Glynde, Isfield, Plumpton, Ringmer, Ripe.

We are particularly pleased that Isfield is in this phase since it is the only exchange in East Sussex which cannot provide broadband and is only capable of dial up. We know that poor speeds and connectivity hinder businesses and residents all over the county and we are working hard to ensure we reach as many people as possible as quickly as we can.

We will also enable cabinets which have been left out of the commercial rollout by BT in the following areas:

Eastbourne, Hampden Park, Lewes, Pevensey, Pevensey Marina (serves the Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne area), Polegate.

More detailed planning and network design is now underway for these areas and surveys at area/cabinet level will begin in the late spring/early summer. Pre-survey work is already underway, particularly in the more rural areas, to assess the condition of existing infrastructure to help planning.
